My friend sent me a link to Aboutus.com:Senior Living. There is a section titled -How to Get Low Cost or Free Prescription Drugs, I believe they call it Patient Assistance Programs. I had no idea that this sort of thing existed. How come I have never heard about this before? And if I haven't heard about it, how many Americans out there could really benefit from this and don't know it exists?
With that being said, I did some research on my own;
Patient assistance programs are run by pharmaceutical companies to provide free medications to people who cannot afford to buy their medicine. Of course there are eligibility requirements and proper channels you must go through to obtain this assistance, but it's obviously worth it.
In the Aboutus website, it lists 6 states that currently have an Rx program and some links to other patient assistance programs, as well.
I hope this helps someone.
